Let’s Make Music: Composition
What makes a song pleasing to the ear? In this class students will learn about important musical elements such as melody, harmony and rhythm and how they work together in a composition. Small student groups will then have the opportunity to write, perform and record their own songs. A variety of age appropriate song writing and notation skills will be utilized to give  students an understanding of how to bring the sounds of their imagination to life.

The class will culminate in a performance and each student will receive a recording of their work

The class is appropriate for students with or without prior musical. For students with no musical training or not sure what instrument they would like to work with, the teacher will work with the student and make the recommendation.

Bring your own instrument or rent one through us (Acme House of Music) for $25 for duration of class (instrument can be purchased at end of class and rental fee applied towards instrument).  Class includes 10% off discount at Acme for private lessons during the duration of the class.
